2013 Moscow Artwalk

If you happen to be in the Moscow, Idaho area next Friday, June 14th, and want to check out some of my creations in person, please drop One World Cafe on Main Street.  They are hosting me and a few of my pieces as part of the Moscow Artwalk opening reception.  I’ll be there at 7pm until close.  Come have a latte or beer.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers!

Ascension Woodcraft and Big City Mountaineers

You’re probably here because you love skiing and being outside.  And you probably know the benefits that wilderness can bring from firsthand experience.

Unfortunately, not everyone has that opportunity.

Enter Big City Mountaineers. For over 20 years, Big City Mountaineers (BCM) has combined the power of mentoring with wilderness experiences to develop character, integrity, responsibility and decision making skills that lead to positive behavioral change in youth. They work exclusively with under-resourced, racially diverse youth, most between the ages of 13 and 18, who often have no experience outside their neighborhoods. BCM has a proven track record of developing healthy, caring and successful young people by: increasing academic achievement; reducing violence; reducing drug use; and increasing physical activity.

As you can imagine, providing these programs takes substantial resources, both of time and money. To that end, I am personally working to fundraise $4,000 to support BCM’s programs through their Summit for Someone program.

Where does Ascension Woodcraft fit into this?

All proceeds from sales of products on this site will go towards that $4,000 goal.  Furthermore, for making a donation you can receive products as a thank you gift. See the different levels and thank you gifts here.

Superheroes of Stoke and Old Head Skis

‘Tis the season for ski/snowboard films. Recently checked out MSP’s Superheroes of Stoke, which followed the progression of skiing over the last 20 years. As you can imagine, a lot of old skis in there, some of which I recognized from recent projects. At minute 0:59, for instance, the pair of Head skis that I recently turned into coat racks.
